Each film coated tablets contains:
Etodolac IP 400 mg
Etodolac (SR) IP 500 mg
Etodolac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.
Indications
Etodolac is used to treat mild to moderate pain, osteoarthritis, or rheumatoid arthritis.
Mechanism of action
It works by blocking the cox-1and cox-2 enzymes which is involve in the production of prostaglandins which mediates inflammation, fever ,As this enzyme converts arachidonic acid to prostaglandins therefore, it inhibits it.

Absorption:
It is absorbed orally
Protein binding:
It is about 99.9% bound to serum albumin
Metabolism:
It is metabolized in the liver and undergoes hydroxylation and glucuronide conjugation.
Excretion:
It is excreted in unchanged form in the urine.

Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity and allergy.
- Contraindicated during the third trimester of pregnancy.
