About Composition
Cefixime:
Cefixime belongs to third- generation of cephalosporin antibiotic. Cefixime is used widely then other cephalosporins and penicillin because cefixime is resistance to beta- lactamase enzymes. It has bactericidal action and prevent the synthesis of cell wall
Ofloxacin:
Ofloxacin is second- generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic it works by inhibiting the enzyme DNA gyrase and prevents the super-coiling and replication of the DNA of the bacteria
Mechanism of action
Cefixime:
It works by interfere with the cell wall synthesis by inhibiting the enzyme peptidoglycan transferase which prevents the cross-linking of peptidoglycan (NAM & NAG) and kills the bacteria
Ofloxacin:
Ofloxacin works by inhibiting the enzyme DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV of the bacteria which is similar to the human topoisomerase and thus prevents the super-coiling of DNA during replication or transcription.
