Cefpodoxime is cephalosporin antibiotic it is act as bactericide. It is used in the respiratory infections, ear infections, urinary tract infections

Mechanism of Action
Cefpodoxime is broad spectrum cephalosporin active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and is resistant to beta-lactamase enzymes. Cefpodoxime is inactivated by beta-lactamases enzymes. Cefpodoxime inhibits cell wall synthesis and exhibits bactericidal action. cefpodoxime binds with penicillin binding protein 3, which inhibits the synthesis of peptidoglycan, the main constituent of bacterial cell.
