Each film coated tablet contains:
Drospirenone IP 3 mg
Ethinylestradiol IP 0.02 mg
This composition contains Drospirenone and Ethinylestradiol which is used to together to treat acne and premenstrual dysphoric disorder.
It is used as oral contraceptive to prevent pregnancy

About Composition
Drospirenone-
It belongs to the category of synthetic progesterone
Drospirenone is used in combination with oestrogens for the prevention of osteoporosis
Sometimes it is used in hirsutism, menstrual irregularities, dysmenorrhoea and endometriosis
Ethinylestradiol-
It belongs to synthetic estradiol class
It also used to treat reduced bone density.
It causes the thickening of the cervical mucus and prevent the entry of sperms in the cervix canal and also prevents the changes in the endometrium for the implantation of the zygote
Mechanism of Action
Drospirenone and Ethinylestradiol both inhibits the follicle stimulating hormone and luteinising hormone by blocking the action gonadotropin secreting hormone thus which prevents ovulation
Pharmacokinetics
Absorption-
Drospirenone & Ethinylestradiol are rapidly absorbed orally
Protein Binding-
Both are bound to albumin.
Metabolism-
Drospirenone is metabolized by oxidation whereas Ethinylestradiol undergoes glucuronidation conjugation.
Excretion-
Both are excreted via feces and urine.

Contraindications
Contraindicated in people with hyperkalaemia
