Mechanism of Action
Ketorolac inhibits the prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting cyclooxygenase 1 and cyclooxygenase enzyme. Ketorolac shows maximum binding with cox-2 thus inhibits inflammation and pain mediated by prostaglandins.
It is absorbed rapidly by oral administration
It is highly bound to proteins
It undergoes hydroxylation and conjugation in the liver
It is excreted via urine

- Contraindicated in chronic heart failure
- Contraindicated in haemorrhage in brain
